Flags and Flowers

Many people will look forward to seeing the flag flying again from St Andrew’s tower on Easter Day. Normally Tony Ward is the one with a head for heights, climbing the ladder to get on top of the tower to lower and hoist the flag. However following the government advice to stay at home and not engage in non-essential activities, it was decided to wait raising the flag until these restrictions are lifted.
For the same reason the idea to build and Easter garden just outside the gate in Chelmondiston and to have a large flower arrangement and banner outside the gate in Harkstead, which was a fine plan a few weeks ago, has been abandoned.
This is not what anyone would have wanted, but a small contribution to the effort to keep as many people safe as possible.
